"The Future of Biomedical Engineering - from Vision to Reality”

Software Training Workshops
Date: 6 Dec 2014 (concurrent with the conference)
Venue: Hong Kong Productivity Council
Topic: Mimics-From Medical Imaging to Reality
Trainer:
Rundown (tentative):
The workshop will focus on several clinical applications of the state-of-art software package, Mimics Innovation Suite by Materialise, and show how this software can assist you with your biomedical research (e.g., segmentation and 3D reconstruction of anatomic structures, non-invasive measurement, finite element analysis and implant design).Through hands-on sessions, you will have the opportunity to experience the innovative technique of Mimics Innovation Suite. The workshop consists of the following 3 sessions:
Session 1: 13:30-15:00
Introduction by Dr. Lars Neumann, Product Manager (Academia | Mimics Innovation Suite), Materialise
Workshop 1: Create accurate 3D models through segmentation
Tea Break: 15:00-15:15
Session 2: 15:15-16:15
Workshop 2: Optimize the calculated 3D model for FEA
Session 3: 16:15-17:45
Workshop 3: Perform accurate measurements in 2D and 3D
Workshop 4: Design a patient-specific implant
